About Us

River Bank Cottage, Whitby. North Yorkshire is the work of local couple Robert and Tracy.  Their philosophy was to create a  self catering holiday cottage where you would feel at home away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life. A place where you can  totally escape. It is ideally Situated between the rugged coastline and the stunning North Yorkshire Moors,  in the small hamlet of Briggswath, 3 miles from the fishing port of Whitby.

River Bank cottage was our home for over 25 years.

 

Nature loving people, being right by the river makes you feel at one with nature.

The sorce of the River Esk is approximately 400m above sea level on Westerdale Moor. Here a series of streams merge. The river then follows a course of 28miles (45km) through sparsely populated moor and farm land, passing by River Bank Cottage to flow directly into the North Sea.

 

The Esk supports a wide range of wildlife, including kingfishers and otters and is particularly important as Yorkshire's only sea trout and salmon river.

To make your stay as relaxing as possible we include a welcome hamper. A great selction of books & games. Free wifi, hairdryer, ironing board, linen, towels & gas central heating.

 

River Bank Cottage has two downstairs living spaces. A Kitchen/diner which is well equipped if you prefer to dine at home, with ceramic hob, gas oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer.

The sitting room has every comfort you could need, leather sofas, living flame fire and smart tv with free view.

Upstairs gives way to a master bedroom with king sized bed, 32" tv. matching furniture

The guest bedroom has twin beds, 32" smart tv. matching furniture
